Lie Nielsen no 164 low angle smoothing plane

This is a low angle version of a No. 4 plane

Good condition, appears to have had very little use and well cared for, coming from a private collection

Bedded at 12° the 50mm (2") wide by 4.8mm (3/16") thick A2 cryogenically treated blade takes and holds a superb edge.

The body is a fine ductile iron casting 9 1/2" long

Weighs in at 1.7 kgs (3 3/4lbs)

Handles of selected Cherry wood

Bronze lever cap.

The mouth can be finely adjusted

Great plane for those difficult grained woods

will need sharpening and honing to suit your own needs
